Meet the Instructor
Rachel Gai. Designer. Educator. Creative mentor.
UpStitch’d Summer Camp is led by designer and educator Rachel Gai, founder of UpStitch’d. With a background in fashion, upcycling, and creative education, Rachel creates spaces where kids can build skills, confidence, and self-expression through sewing. She is a mother to a 4 year old and enjoys spending time outside!
And, Laura Garcia, a FCS High School Teacher with 8 years of teaching experience and a passion for sewing, fashion, and creative education. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, sewing, and spending time with her partner, Casey, friends, and family. She is passionate about sharing her love of sewing with the community while encouraging and inspiring emerging designers.

Sew Creative Club
Sew Creative Club is an interactive sewing program designed for youth to explore creativity through hands-on projects. Participants learn foundational sewing skills while creating their own accessories and garments, building confidence, problem-solving skills, and self-expression along the way.
