What is Sew Creative Camp?
Sew Creative Camp is a hands-on summer program for 4th–8th graders where students learn how to sew, upcycle clothing, and design their own pieces.
Instead of just consuming fashion…they learn how to make it.
SEW CREATIVE CAMP:
Dates (M-F) Monday, August 10th - Friday, August 14th
TIME: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
LOCATION: Olmsted Elementary - Art Room (7110 Prairie Ave)
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: August 3rd, 2026
FEE: $250 - Late registrations may not be accepted.
Please make sure to bring your own clothes you would like to upcycle; these will not be provided. All other tools and materials will be provided!
What your child will learn
How to use a sewing machine (safely + confidently)
Hand sewing + simple repair skills
How to turn old clothes into something new
Beginner fashion design + creative thinking
Confidence in bringing their ideas to life
What they’ll make
Throughout camp, students create:
A patchwork tote bag
A custom upcycled t-shirt
A reworked garment or accessory
A final statement piece they design themselves
What to bring
Any old t-shirts, jeans, or clothes your child wants to redesign (optional)
Water bottle + snack/lunch
A willingness to try something new
We provide all sewing machines, tools, and additional materials.
